Can we have a little more freedom tomorrow please?

As visioned by a 4 year old girl we happen to know :) 

Who is asking?

We, the citizens of a sovereign, democratic, secular republic. (My civic science teacher in school would cry with joy if she read, that for once I got that part somewhat right!)

We are the guys;

# who have never used media sync, Microsoft exchange or the briefcase, despite the fact that a lot of windows is built right inside one of those dull, steel and glass buildings which you can see from your bedroom.

# who live such self destructing lifestyles that we cannot eat a meal if we know that an antacid is not handy.

# who get home after 3 pegs every night, not because it makes us merry but because it helps us face our respective realities.

# who don't believe in fixing anything anymore. We only believe in replacing. Whether it be a radio, a mobile phone or a relationship.

# who right click and refresh our desktops more times than we breathe.

# who drive our cars with high beams at night. In fact, for us, that is the only way the headlight can be switched on.

# who have made giant international corporations start and advertise a 'give a missed call' service.

# who have OK TATA written behind every truck that plies on our roads, never once asking what it really means. (World War trucks that ran on kerosene would have that warning behind them so that other vehicles would keep distance. On collisions, kerosene unlike diesel often ignited and exploded, so the warning OK - 'On Kerosene' was necessary)

# who find true love inevitably after having a kid or two.

# who press the up or down elevator button based on the real time position of the lift.

# who manufacture cars, motorcycles and under arm deodorant that we ourselves would never use.

# who have made McD and KFC change their global menus.

What do we have so far?

# we can swindle millions of rupees and stash it away in unknown accounts, freely!
# we can jump red lights and have office con calls while we drink and drive, freely!
# some of us can rape and kill, freely!
# some of us can wear suicide vests like we were wearing a track suit for that walk in the park, freely!
# we can litter, freely!
# Real Estate builders can decide their super built up loading, freely!
# NIIT can proudly advertise 'we are proud to do away with studies and produce more crappy manpower' freely!
# we can set up chit funds, rob poor people of everything they had and move around the world with that money, freely!

But there is always room for improvement, so we need;

# the right to watch porn in state and national assemblies more freely
# the right to use public money to fund that island purchase more freely
# the right to use the word 'costs' instead of 'valued employees' more freely
# the right to sell onions, petrol and beer at the same price, more freely
# the right to open shady MBA and Engineering colleges to roger the lives of many more youths, more freely

But why do we need it tomorrow?

It is that day of the year again. Air fares have sky rocketed as that XXL weekend starts. The guys at IRCTC have finally stunned the nation by showing that they have a sense of humour after all. A ticket query on their website for the next four days results in that ROFL Smiley popping up on your computer screen. All the booze shops have long serpentine queues which, for a change, will not be jumped by anyone. The day at most offices has been half spent, coordinating between people who are making that long road trip to the beach or to the hills tomorrow morning. And no, Rahul is not driving this time. He is not safe as a driver. Plus, he has crappy music on his car's USB drive.

It also happens to be our National Independence Day!
